I am growing old everyday. I am losing steam everyday.
And today as I saw a bunch of folks who are my age (from amongst my family) I realized what aging feels like. Most folks looked old, worn and battle weary.
I almost felt guilty as if I was judging them. I wondered whether I look similar too.
What does it take to age with class, to age with dignity.
What does it take for a person who is 35+ to look just that - instead of looking like he/she was instead tired and almost ready to give up (on his/her entire life).
(Wondering again) do I look like that too?
I want to grow old, but with the dignity and grace of the Dalai Lama who at 80+ is a doyen of compassion, grace, life and curiosity.
I definitely want to die a Buddhist, but more importantly I want to live like a Buddhist.
Om mani padme hum.
