If you have/had dealt with an infant, you shall relate to this post. The new (wimpy) world believes that a child is best fed with mom’s milk and thats about it.
As for support and medicines, it believes chemicals made in the lab are the best….be it for colic, or for cough or for diarrhoea etc….
My view – well, I am a social terrorist :-). I hate the allopathic philosophy (and yet, strangely I need to take a few pills at night for a chronic legacy problem…that I cannot ignore…:-) or rather one which I am not allowed to ignore :-( )
Save that, I don’t remember the last time I had crocin or an analgesic. I had antibiotics last in 2006 when I had a surgery…I had to take antibiotics on IV. I simply refuse to have painkillers or medicines, even when I am at a dentist.
Given that, I think….if its cool to pump a few ml of multivitamin everyday into your kiddo, then why not tulsi for cough or honey for diarrhoea….or gripe water (ajwain) for colic.
I think there is a new religion in town….and its driven by blind faith as well. Its called “science”….what a freaking misnomer.

I think one of the hardest lessons of parenting is to actually stand back and let your child fight his own wars with germs and whatever!
Despite 5 plus years of being a parent, I still have to keep reminding myself not to interfere each time there is an issue....
could not agree more :-). The war has just begun....it actually seems more like an (un) holy jehad !!
