If you have ever driven in Bangalore (after having lived in another city!!) then you will relate to this post.
The two wheel drivers of this city, literally wear their life on their scruff (similar expression to “sar peh kafan” :-))
They drive to die…quite literally. Most vehicles are dented and ill maintained as this was more Tehran (a war zone) than Bangalore.
And yet yesterday, they were all cleaning, polishing, squashing limes, tying banana leaves onto their vehicles. I asked someone “why?”, he said “because the vehicle should protect me through the year”.
When I was a kid, I had been force fed “God helps those who help themselves”.
